Creating and managing a custom voice
A custom voice changes spoken playback. It does not rewrite the character's personality, greeting or text replies.
Preparing an audio sample
Use your own recording or audio you have permission to use for voice creation. Aim for a clear sample of about 30 seconds, while following the file limits shown in the upload form.
Record one person speaking at a steady volume. As a practical recording check, listen for background music, overlapping speech and long silent gaps before uploading.
Creating the voice
- Open Create Voice from Create, or choose + Create in the voice-selection popup.
- Upload the sample and complete Voice Name and Gender. Fill in Language if requested.
- Add a description or tags if useful, then confirm that you have the necessary rights.
- Submit the voice and find its processing entry in My Voices.
Once it is ready, preview it before choosing it for spoken replies.
Listening before a longer conversation
Use a short line with a question and a statement, then try a line containing a name from your story. Listen for the pronunciation and pace you want for the character.
If the text itself is wrong, edit the text rather than recording a new voice sample. Voice choice and message editing solve different problems.
My Voices and available slots
Choose or delete a voice through My Voices. If all slots are occupied, remove a voice you no longer use or review the capacity of your plan.
Created voices are for personal use; creating one does not make it publicly shareable. Treat the sample as personal information when reviewing privacy settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use someone else's voice sample?
Only use audio you have the rights and permission to use for voice creation. The upload flow requires confirmation of those rights.
Where can I find a voice I created?
Open My Voices in the voice-selection popup. A new voice may appear there while it is still processing.
